Double Acting Pneumatic Actuator is an actuator that converts the input air pressure signal to 90 degrees and outputs it in a torsionally rectangular form. This series of pneumatic actuators is a small, high-performance actuator. It can be used in combination with a quarter-turn control valve for adjustment and switching, as well as for other rotary motion applications.

 

The switching action of the walker is driven by an air source, which is called double acting.

 

The selection of double-acting actuator takes DA series pneumatic actuator as an example:

The output torque of the rack actuator is obtained by multiplying the piston pressure (supplied by the air source) by the radius of the pitch circle (the arm of the force). And the friction resistance is small and the efficiency is high. Both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation of the output torque are linear. Under normal operating conditions, the recommended safety factor for double-acting actuators is 25-50%

Operation

 

Air to Port A forces the pistons outward, causing the pinion to turn counterclockwise while the air is being exhausted from Port B.

Air to Port B forces the pistons inwards, causing the pinion to turn clockwise while the air is being exhausted from Port A.

 

 

Air to Port A for forces the pistons outward, causing the pinion to turn clockwise while the air is being exhausted from Port B.

Air to Port B forces the pistons inwards, causing the pinion to turn counterclockwise while the air is being exhausted from Port A.

 

The above is the transmission principle of the standard type. According to the user's needs, the pneumatic actuator can be installed in the opposite transmission principle of the standard type, that is, the quasi-axis rotates in the clockwise direction to open the valve, and the counterclockwise direction to turn the closing valve. Single-acting (spring return type) pneumatic actuator A nozzle is the air inlet, and B nozzle is the exhaust hole (B nozzle should be installed with a muffler). The air intake of the A nozzle is to open the valve, and the valve is closed by spring force when the air is cut off.
